Dfference between RAC & Waiting Ticket of Indian Railway

Dfference between RAC & Waiting Ticket of Indian Railway

WL (Waiting) or RAC (Reservation Against Cancellation).

Which one is better ?

RAC  :- It means you will definitely get a seat (half) but you have to share it with other person, but don't worry there are still chances that your RAC ticket get converted into a confirmed ticket & you will get your own full seat.

WL :- It means you have to wait until your ticket get confirmed or you will have to travel in general compartment with it.

Note:
If you have a waiting ticket booked online then you cannot travel with that ticket bcoz it automatically get cancelled unless your ticket has been converted into RAC or Confirmed.

So, you decide not which one is better. 😄 It totally depends upon you & your journey distance. If the distance is short and you have RAC ticket then you may go forward with the journey. BUT, if the distance is too long then it is upto you. But it is advisable to go on with a Confirmed ticket unless it is urgent for you to take the journey.

Meaning of RAC99/RAC88 is that your booking status is 99 but your present status is 88 (i.e. you are the 99th person to book the ticket when you booked but now at present you are in 88th place).
